The Vintage Modern Wife: Happies and Crappies Link Up

Happies

Rocco the rabbit has taken an extended vacation at home this week. With the crazy, cold, nontraditional Tucson weather we have been having this week I was worried to keep Roc at school without heat overnight. The kids have missed him but I have (selfishly) loved having him at home.

American Idol is back on!!! Yay!!! American Idol is such a guilty pleasure of mine. I am not sure how I feel about the new judges (where is Simon and why did he ever leave me!?!) but with 11 seasons in my belt, I’m not about to give up now.

Downton Abby. Seriously obsessed. I have never wished I lived abroad but Downton makes me wish I was in the UK and therefore I would know how this season ends.

It’s the weekend!! And it also happens to be a three-day weekend. And said weekend, is completely open and free of commitments!!!! Waaa-hooooo!!!!

Operation Take Down Christmas Decorations will commence tomorrow morning. January is almost half way over and I still have a Christmas tree in my family room. Oops!

The days are sllllooooowly getting longer. Not by much but I’ve noticed it’s not completely pitch black when I get to work in the morning. It’s the little things right?

I am obsessed with Temple Run 2. However, am I the only one who finds it wayyyyyy more difficult than regular Temple Run? Please tell me I am not.

Crappies

I broke two coffee mugs this week. Two out of the last five days I broke mugs. What the heck man!?! And one of the mugs was a favorite. A flamingo mug which always made me think of my Grandma. She loved flamingos. Plus, it was a giant mug and the bigger the mug the more I love it.

The same crazy, cold weather that has caused Rocco to stay at home, has also caused me to slack on my running. Sadly, my Arizona blood was not made to run in 20 degree temperatures. And therefore, I am behind in my mileage for the week.

Lots of yucky illness is going around school; an upper respiratory infection that wipes people out for days, pink eye, and the flu…just to name a few. I do not want ANY of these!!!

Sometimes it’s really hard to live so far away from my family. This week was just one of those weeks I wish I could have eaten some of my Mom’s yummy home cooking, watched Pretty Little Liars with Cassie, rocked out at one of Derek’s shows, or drank coffee with my Dad. But sadly none of that was possible. I’m lucky to have such an amazingly, supportive family, even with lots of miles between us.
