For the year of 2012 I had three resolutions…
- Run a half marathon.
- Take at least one picture everyday.
- Stop drinking caffeine and juice. Drink more water.
And I ROCKED these resolutions. And for that I am proud of myself but also a little stuck. I want to continue being caffeine free, and to keep drinking lots and lots of water. I also loved taking a picture every day the past year. In fact the first day of 2013 over several mimosas my sister and I looked at the 366 pictures I had taken during 2012 and I knew right then that this was something I wanted to continue as well.
So I knew I was continuing on with last years resolutions. I knew I was staying status quo. But I wanted more.
Therefore I spent WEEKS wracking my brain (and the brains of those around me) thinking about what my resolutions would be. I like coming up with three resolutions; I’m not sure why three; it’s just what I’ve always done. And I am a creature if habit.
I came up with three resolutions. Three resolutions that I know I can rock at again. Three resolutions I am totally pumped about! Without further adieu I leave you my resolutions…
Run 1,00 miles this year. This is my biggest resolution. And quite lofty if I say so myself. While it seems overwhelming, 1,000 is a lot of miles, when you break it down its more manageable. I’ll have to run a little more than 19 miles a week. So if I run about 4 miles five days a week I’ll be set. Did I mention my two sisters will be doing this with me? All three of us will be running 1,000 miles! #sistersrun1000
Read at least one book a month. Thanks to my sister for this suggestion. I love to read and I’m constantly finding books id like to add to my library. But unfortunately my life gets in the way and I find myself only reading during school breaks. Well not this year. This year I am committed to reading at least one book during each month. Send my any must, read book suggestions. The first book I’m going to read is Bloom by Kelle Hampton.
Get organized. I’m not sure how it happens but we sure do accumulated a lots of stuff. And most if it is just that…stuff. Nothing really important, things we don’t really need to keep. Yet we do. So this year I am decluttering and reorganizing our house. Wish me luck, a certain someone in the Wilhelm household doesn’t like to part with things very easily.
Do you make New Years Resolutions? If you do I’d love to hear all about them!!

OMG too funny.. so I came up with “1013 in 2013″ for me & my friend Candice. We are training for the Nike Women’s Half marathon in late April and so we are trying to run 1,013 miles this year. I love your book one too, that was mine last year but much like you I only read when I was off so I sadly averaged about a book a month but would go months without actually reading that one. So I did not quite succeed, I may try again this year. I just started reading Tina Fey’s Bossypants – hilarious so far! My main resolution is reduced stress which running and reading help with!! Love you!!
